Week 9

What a strange week with only 3 days! Hope your family enjoyed the Easter break.
We continued with our Water Inquiry this week and combined it with Discovery.
Our version of 'Frozen'. Rescuing the animals from the ice. Lots of fun even if a bit cold! Followed on from our talk about Matter - liquid, solid or gas.

We tried to find out which things floated and which sank. The big question is -  why?

On Fridays we Buddy read. It's a good time to share our reading with each other.

Please keep up with those basic facts each night. Today we had 10 students with 'personal bests' which was exciting👍

Week 7

Wow the term is flying by! Thank you to parents for help with last week's trip to the Scenic Reserve. It was a great day.

Also thank you for Interviews. It helps your child if we are all in communication both to celebrate the successes, and to put a plan together for things which need a bit more support.

Our Inquiry this term is centred around WATER
so we have a wide range of activities planned including the 2 sessions we have had with Mrs Eddington from Environment Canterbury. Next week she will take us to have a look at the local stream and focus on what's in it.

Our shared reading book activity gave us the chance to be pirates today.

Riley walked the plank !

Discovery will continue after Easter when we have the next free Friday - They have been a bit busy lately. We do appreciate any boxes, containers etc to add to the construction box.
