Bees and Butterflies

The inspiration for our beehives came from our weekly Big Book, 'Bertha and the Bee Man'.
The beehive shapes were cut out from bubble wrap - this plastic was tricky to cut!  We then painted thickly over the 'bubbles'.
Next, the painted bubble wrap was pressed onto paper to create a fabulous, 'dotty' beehive.

Bees - created by thumb prints  (always messy and fun) and black felt to add the stripes and wings.

Butterfly prints to accompany our Spring Poem of the Week

First, we had to put our scissor skills to the test and cut out our butterflies.

We painted only 1/2 the butterfly, then folded it over and pressed, opened and ... hey presto, a symmetrical pattern.
Many of the children thought this was rather magical!

By popular request we revisited our 'Recycled Newspaper Art'.

At last all the ukuleles have been tuned!

Looking forward to seeing you at our Athletic Sports on Friday !
