Snow Day! Mega Brain visits!

Friday was a full on day!
We had the exciting sight of snow falling and 'spiralling' (thanks Maddox, fabulous word) outside our classroom window.

Of course, we had to draw some snow pictures!

We were very lucky to have a visit from The Mega Brain, courtesy of Dunedin's Brain Research trust. Do ask the children questions, our young scientists were very excited to walk through this large inflatable brain and have learnt many new facts.

We made  paper models of the brain and talked about the different areas of the brain and what functions they control

Whoops, backwards but you get the idea!

 Maths

We have been investigating properties of 2D and 3D shapes. Once we began patterning with these shapes the children quickly found reflecting the shapes made for a great effect so the new word Symmetry has been added to our class vocabulary

Did you know it was National Scout Tie day on Friday?
